Visiting Teachers in 2015

Unfortunately, John Peacock is not well enough to teach at the BRC in March 2015.   We wish him a steady recovery and hope that he will be able to visit the BRC again later in 2015.

Jonathan Preboy and Anna Scharfenburg: January  5 - 9 & May 29 – 31

Jonathan Preboy and Anna Scharfenburg will offer retreatants the opportunity to practise Insight Meditation  (Vipassana) using the traditional method of Mahasi Sayadaw and Achan Tong.

Rob Nairn and Lucy Draper-Clarke:  March 24 – 29 2015

Rob Nairn and Lucy Draper-Clarke will give graduated instruction on how to tame our wayward minds, through the practices of mindfulness, compassion and insight. Mindfulness alone seldom frees us from the unseen patterns that keep enduring peace and happiness out of reach. The route to real freedom requires the penetrating light of insight, held within compassionate acceptance. During this 5 day retreat, we will embark upon a step-by-step path designed to help participants identify experientially the many tricks of the mind that keep us trapped. We will learn how to free ourselves, and how to bring the essential qualities of awareness into our daily living. The styles of teaching will include instruction, sitting and movement practices, as the basis for inquiry and reflection.
