The central message in the Buddha’s teaching is enshrined in his Four Noble Truths.  These state that we cannot avoid coming across stressful situations in life - situations which we often wished had never happened. So we really suffer from the fact that we wish that things are different from what they are or might have been.  Does that help?  How realistic or constructive is that?  So where does the cause of our suffering lie?  Buddhism gives us some excellent guidance and tools to radically change our understanding of and attitude to stress.  We can learn to deal with stress and suffering in ways that are realistic and not so punishing on our bodies and minds. We will discuss how Buddhist Mindfulness and Insight meditation practice help us to establish a sense of ease, calmness and clarity even in the most challenging situations.
