Softening Into Change: A Heart-Centred Yoga And Meditation Retreat
Teacher: Christian Kruger
Cost: 2 days accommodation + R400 surcharge
Dates: Friday 28 May 2027 - Sunday 30 May 2027
Change is a natural part of life, yet it can leave us feeling uncertain, unsettled or resistant. We often experience it in the body before we are able to name it: the breath becomes restricted, the shoulders tighten and we brace ourselves against what is unfolding. Softening Into Change is an invitation to explore a different response. Rather than forcing ourselves to accept change before we are ready, we will practise meeting our experience with honesty, curiosity and compassion. Through heart-centred Hatha and Yin yoga, pranayama, meditation and guided reflection, we will become aware of how uncertainty is reflected in patterns of tension and holding. Mindful movement, precise attention to alignment and an unhurried pace will help us cultivate stability while gently creating space for change. This weekend will include time for rest, quiet contemplation and walking in nature. Discover that softening isn’t giving in. It is the courage to meet change with openness.

Christian Kruger has always been deeply interested in the human journey - how we grow, adapt and heal as we find our way through life. At the heart of his own journey is a strong calling to serve. Yoga has given him the framework through which he can honour that calling and guide people as they reconnect with their authentic selves. Christian completed his 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa yoga teacher training in 2018 and has been teaching full-time since 2019. Four years ago, he opened Sat Surya Studio in Himeville, creating a space where people can feel welcomed, supported and valued. Since 2020, he has incorporated Reiki’s gentle and intuitive principles into his teaching, bringing a deeper healing dimension to his yoga sessions and supporting students as they soften, release and connect more fully with themselves. His teaching is first and foremost heart-centred, while also being grounded in mindful movement, breath awareness and precise attention to alignment.
