Dates: Friday 09 October 2020 - Sunday 11 October 2020
The eternal, unbroken, natural state of abiding in the Self is jnana (wisdom)
To abide in the Self, you must love the Self
Since God is verily the Self, love of the Self is love of God
And that is bhakti (Divine Love)
- Sri Ramana Maharshi
Self-Love is a topic that many of us avoid, yet it is one which has a profound impact on our happiness, effectiveness and spiritual growth as human beings. What is less well known, is how Self-Love integrates with spiritual teachings. Sadly, many of us have been taught quite the opposite, based on a misinterpretation of what Self-Love actually means, which has led to greater suffering in the world. Drawing on universal truths from various spiritual traditions, her experience as a scholar of ancient scriptures, and her academic and experiential research into Self-Love and Leadership, Nerisha will explore how Self-Love impacts our ability to lead ourselves and others toward greater well-being and spiritual evolution. We will explore the meaning of Self-Love in its highest expression, and how it is the very opposite of narcissism and selfishness. Unravelling what is Self and what is Love, we will understand that true Self-Love involves an expansion of compassion toward others rooted in a spiritual understanding of who we are. Working experientially, the retreat will include discourses, meditation, silent forest walks, yoga, and practical coaching techniques toward cultivating Self-Love.
